Kirsten English, CEO »
Kirsten English is CEO of Style Research and joined the company in 2015. She has worked for 30 years in the Financial Technology Sector with experience in FTSE, NASDAQ and Dublin-listed companies as well as Private Equity-backed acquisitions.
Her executive career history includes Reuters (16 years – including CEO of the Norway and Iceland subsidiary), Radianz (General Manager and Co-Founder), Warburg Pincus (Entrepreneur in Residence), Grenfell PAI Fund of Hedge Funds (CEO), and Terra Firma Capital Partners (Investor Relations).
Kirsten is an independent director on the Trustee Board for the Universities Superannuation Scheme and the Senior Independent Director for Innovate Finance, the independent not-for-profit membership association representing the UK’s FinTech community. She was recently named to the Innovate Finance Women in Fintech Powerlist.
Kirsten attended Oxford University (M.A) and Wharton Business School (Executive Education).
George Kallarackal, CTO »
George Kallarackal is the Chief Technology Officer at Style Research.
George has been with the company since 1999 and been involved in all aspects of the product development process. As CTO George now leads all the technical teams at Style Research.
Before joining Style Research, George was a financial analyst with Mercer. He read Pure Mathematics and Computation at the University of Manchester.
Peter Hopkins, COO »
Peter Hopkins is Chief Operating Officer of Style Research.
Prior to joining Style Research, Peter Hopkins spent fourteen years with Baring Asset Management (BAM) where he was a Director of the Investment Management Group, Head of the Quantitative Research Team and a member of the Investment Board and Global Senior Management team, with responsibility for the development and implementation of the quantitative elements of BAM”s investment philosophy and processes. Peter is also a co-author of the monograph “Country, Sector and Company Factors in Global Equity Portfolios”, published by AIMR. He holds an M.A. and D. Phil. in Theoretical Nuclear Physics from Oxford University, where he was also a Lecturer in Physics and Research Assistant in Robotics. He is a member of the INQUIRE UK Research Committee.
Lee Colliss, CFO »
Lee looks after the financial functions of the group and plays a strategic role working with the Board on its competitive and acquisition activity. Qualified in 1993, Lee’s background has been in various well known organisations across many industries: including IT (Sage, KCS, ML, Cable and Wireless, CableCom), sciences (Fisons, Glaxo) and beverages (Coca-Cola). He has extensive experience in re-engineering financial and operational processes in fast growing organisations. His experience lies across a wide spectrum; Financial and Management Accounts, Forecasts, Budgets and Business Plans, Internal Controls and Procedures, Installing and Developing Accounting Systems, and Acquisition Due Diligence and Integration. A keen golfer in his spare time, assuming he gets permission from his wife and young daughter!
David Merrill, Head of Global Sales & Marketing »
David Merrill is Head of Global Sales and Marketing for Style Research. He joins the company after a diverse 25-year career in the financial markets, overseeing a variety of risk management, quantitative analytics, electronic trading, operational risk and trading workflow automation businesses. Prior to joining Style Research, Dave held senior leadership roles as a Managing Director at InvestTech Systems Consulting, CEO of FinAnalytica, Chief Content Officer of NYFIX, Managing Director at Moody’s, Managing Director of Global Operations at Omgeo, and as Director of Sales and Market Development at Thomson Financial. Dave holds a business management degree from the University of Rhode Island and volunteers as a troop leader for the Boy Scouts.
Bernie Nelson, President North America »
Bernie Nelson is President of Style Research North America and is based in Boston, USA.
Prior to joining Style Research, Bernie held positions as Head of Risk and Head of Quantitative Analysis at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, now Standard Life Aberdeen. He was responsible for developing portfolio risk management and integrating quantitative techniques into a fundamentally based investment process. He has also managed structured products and index funds, and has financial engineering experience as a derivative products analyst. Bernie speaks regularly at international investment conferences on factor investing and smart beta, environmental social and governance (ESG) investing, and style and risk analysis in asset management.
Bernie holds an Honors degree in Mathematics from Edinburgh University. He is an Affiliate of the UK Society of Investment Professionals, a member of the CFA Institute, and a member of the CFA Society Boston. Bernie is also an Ambassador for the Transparency Task Force.

Robert Schwob, Founder »
Robert Schwob is the Founder of Style Research Limited and Senior Adviser of the company. He is also a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Asset Management and of the Advisory Board for the Centre of Asset Management Research at Cass Business School, an Advisor of INQUIRE UK, the past Chairman of the INQUIRE UK Research Committee, and a Guest Lecturer at the London Business School.
Previously, Robert was Chief Executive of Quorum Capital Management Limited, London and, prior to that, Chief Investment Officer for The Citibank Private Bank (Europe, Middle East and Africa).
Robert was educated in Canada, France, and the UK, and holds Masters Degrees in Mathematics and International Economics. He is a regular speaker at international investment conferences and a respected educator, lecturing on international investment practice and theory in academic and professional education programmes and specialist seminars. Robert has also published broadly in the professional journals on Style Analysis and Style Management, Stock Selection, Benchmark Selection and Market Allocation Processes, and Hedging and Currency Management.
Sally Tennant, Chair of the Board »
Sally was appointed Chair of the Board in 2016.
A prominent figure in the wealth management industry, Sally brings considerable experience in asset management, private banking and wealth management.
In addition to her role at Style Research, Sally is Chair of Duncan Lawrie Private Banking, Vice-Chair of the Advisory Board of Paladin Capital Group and a Director of Ledunfly SA. Previously she served as Chief Executive of Kleinwort Benson, Lombard Odier (UK) and Schroders Private Banking.
Jeremy Hand, Managing Partner, Lyceum Capital Partners »
Jeremy joined the Board of Style Research as a non executive director in 2015.
Jeremy is a co-founder of Lyceum Capital and focuses on sourcing and executing investments. He currently sits on the boards of Bellrock and Clearswift. Before Lyceum Capital, Jeremy was a founding shareholder and Partner at Duke Street Capital. He qualified as a chartered accountant with Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC) and holds a joint degree in Computer Science and Accountancy from Manchester University, where he is also an honorary teaching fellow. Jeremy is a past chairman of the British Venture Capital Association (BVCA).

David has 20 years’ experience in senior roles at Computer Software Group, Solution 6 Group and Tyco International with a strong focus on performance improvement, M&A and international growth. He is currently a non-executive director of Clearswift and Access Technology Group. David holds a degree in Economics from Cambridge University.
